Pre-Season Training
Getting ready for the 2024 season starts on 14 February!
All our pre-season training sessions are held on Wednesday evenings (5:30pm to 6:30pm) at Graceville Memorial Park (between cricket fields 2 and 3).
Pre-season training sessions aren’t mandatory; however, they are very helpful in developing skills for the season ahead. To remove any doubt, pre-season training is only for Bullsharks players (U6s to U12s). Puppies kicks off on 19 April.
Children interested in trying rugby can come down to any of the pre-season session to give rugby a go (details below).
Information Sessions and Trials
If you’re a new family or interested in joining UQ Junior Bullsharks in 2024, we invite you to attend an informal introduction held 5pm session before any of the pre-season training sessions. If you have any other questions, send us an email ()
Giving Rugby a Go
We know some children and families prefer to give new sports a go before committing to a season. Our pre-season training sessions are a perfect opportunity for this (you’ll even get to meet some potential teammates). Any children wanting to participate must register (via Rugby Xplorer) as a ‘training only participant’ ($15 for insurance). Fees paid for training-only participation are discounted when upgrading registration to play.

Custom Mouthguards
Mouthguards are a critical safety item for playing rugby – especially when tackling. Essential Care Dental is back to support both the Bullsharks and our families through an exceptional deal for custom mouthguards. Families with private health insurance pay no gap (when using codes 013 or 151). Alternatively, players can purchase for $120.
Impressions (used to make the mouthguards) can be taken on-site at Graceville Memorial Park on Wednesday 6 March. Or if they are needed earlier, families can organise to visit the surgery (located at Graceville Five-ways) – give the team a call to arrange.
